QUINN BROADCASTING. Everyone knows Jim Quinn is Quinn Broadcasting. He has been a staple in Millville for many years.
Jim Quinn will tell you: television can take you places you never dreamed of.
Quinn came to Millville many decades ago as a teacher, got almost by accident into television and now is president of Quinn Broadcasting, a family-owned and operated media production and broadcasting company, located at 415 N High St.
Along the way he became a sportscaster, a newsman, an interview host, a radio station owner, a county freeholder, and mayor of Millville--35 years as an elected official. He’s worn many hats and managed many claims upon his time. But among the most persistent has always been television, like the fixed foot of his careers.
“I love what I am doing,” Quinn says. “This is my high. I love people and being able to sit and interview them.”
Quinn Broadcasting calls itself a community-first driven company, with a desire to provide critical communications of local interest.
Which means on Quinn’s channels—Comcast Channel 22 in South Jersey, with live content also available on their YouTube channel (QBCTV) and Facebook page—you are very likely to find local high school sports, government meetings, and community events.
The company also works with local businesses to produce television advertising and podcasts, manage brands and handle public relations.
You are also likely to find Quinn himself hosting his Around South Jersey show, with guests like senators and commissioners and celebrities. Elvis Presley’s son once appeared on the show.
“We’re a good information source for people,” Quinn said, “though you never know where you’ll land next, which is why I like it. It’s been a lot of fun.”
