Downtown Millville actually has some very good options when it comes to eating & Full Potatoes is certainly a good one. Congrats to Marcedes & Chucky.

Chucky Ward spent years in the weeds of the food industry, dreaming of the day he could call the shots. One day, faced with the unhappy chore of looking for a new job, something deep and mysterious spoke in his soul. It said potatoes.

How about making potatoes the backbone of an entire restaurant menu, he thought. Ward was convinced it would work, though others were skeptical.

His wife Marcedes McFarland saw the merit and came on board immediately. They began serving potato-based dishes from their home in Glassboro, later moving to Bridgeton. In November 2023, they opened Full Potatoes in Millville, with McFarland as the owner and Ward as the head chef.

They say they serve the only full menu of loaded baked potatoes in all of New Jersey.

The menu highlights the potato’s versatility, with options such as Bacon Cheeseburger, Broccoli and Cheddar, Chicken Bacon Alfredo, Ragin’ Cajun Shrimp and Stir Fry.

The restaurant also offers a party space and operates as BYOB, adding to its appeal as a gathering spot.

Rounding out the menu are the desserts, which McFarland makes by hand, including sweet potato cheesecake and a variety of delicious confections. They are open Tuesday through Thursday 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday noon to 8:30 p.m.

“The people that support us are everyday people,” McFarland says. “That is a blessing. And if the conversation is about potatoes? I could talk all day."
